The concept behind five guys nutrition is based on his experience as a professional weight lifter and personal trainer. According to him, most people are either too lazy or too busy to make healthy food choices. He attributes this to busy schedules, poor food choices, and the influence of advertisers who only want you to think that food you're eating is automatically more nutritious than it really is. He claims that by providing his customers with a wide choice of foods from all different food groups, they'll be more inclined to make healthy food choices and avoid the influence of advertisers. He also offers his customers the option of purchasing their own prepackaged meals.

The concept of Five Guys Nutrition is simple, though its execution may not be. It's more of a concept that involves using restaurant menus to create five guys nutrition bars. Instead of buying prepackaged meals, customers choose from a menu of all natural, organic, and good for you food choices. They can also choose from a variety of low calorie, low fat, and low sodium dishes. On their way out, they can get a free refillable plastic water bottle, a can dispenser, a deli sandwich bag, a cream soda, and other small gifts. There are about 20 restaurants involved in the Five Guys Nutrition program, though the concept has spread so rapidly that many places now have five guys nutrition cafes where customers can get snacks while they wait for their meal.

Another similar type of restaurant with a similar concept is Five Guys Nutrition Cafe. This type of business serves similar kinds of meals, but they use French fries as their main entree instead of hamburger. Customers can order the fries without the bun, instead, and still get the same great taste and nutritional benefits from them. A lot of the five guys nutrition cafes use real cheese for their French fries.

Some of these cafes also have blended ins on their menus. Customers can get a shake, a smoothie, or a yogurt drink, and some also have vegetable platters with mixed greens and low calorie dressing. The real secret to a great nutrition menu is the blending of the ingredients, not just the count of calories on the label. The better nutrition menus will combine protein with high fiber foods to give the illusion that the calories are not counted.

Mystery customer buys one of the new French fries packages and wants to know more about it. She asks the cashier for more information, such as what are the nutritional facts? She is told, "That's not something we can list on our nutrition menu." "How do you come up with that?" she asks, confused. The cashier tells her, "We make it easy for you to understand the nutrition information by listing the amount of calories, the amount of protein, the fiber, the fat, the salt and other things like that on the back of the packages."

Mystery Customer is now curious about how she can find out more information about the food she just ordered. She goes home and does a search online. She finds out that because French Fries have about five grams of fat per serving, they are the worst kind of food to eat while dieting. She is also surprised to learn that the American Heart Association lists French fries as one of the foods to avoid while dieting because of the high calories and the high fat content.

Mystery finds out that the restaurant she was ordering the food from will start making those healthier French fries for the rest of their locations. They will still be made with white flour, but will be spelled out as such on the packaging. Mystery is very happy to hear this because she loves to eat French fries. The rest of the team is also very happy that Mystery did not order the Chinese food. As a reward, they all go out together and have a great time enjoying the free French Fries!
